Well HELLO there and welcome to my homepage. Hmmmmm, I guess the first thing I should do is tell you a little bit about myself. Well then, sit back and buckle up 'cause it's gonna be a BUMPY ride :-)

First things first, my name is Roxane Ilka Hilton Clarke

What was that?

Why only one N in Roxane?

Well, well, well, so glad you asked :~}

Actually, I was named after Roxane from the book

Cyrano de Bergerac
by Edmond Rostand

So, the original French spelling was in fact with one N.

After that riveting fact ^^, let's move on. I was born in Trinidad and Tobago. And for all who don't know, Trinidad and Tobago is in the Caribbean. Some say it's the best place in the world,

I would tend to agree.

So, as I was saying, I was born in Trinidad and Tobago and lived here for about 18 years. After attending secondary school here and doing my Advanced Level Examinations, I left the country to study in America. Where did I venture to? The Nation's Capital, Washington D.C. Now I attend Howard University which is the best-known Historically Black University in the United States. I started my undergraduate programme in Pre-Med there in the fall of 1996 and have been there ever since.

    In my first year I had two great roommates...Maisha and Lwam. And of course there was my good friend Adie. We had a lot of fun that first year. In the second year, after Maisha moved back home, Lwam, Adie and I lived together in a kinda-sorta- apartment.
     It was really fun and we got along well. Howard University is indeed a great experience for me. I have learned a lot about people there and a great deal about history.
Over the years I have developed a taste for a number of things. I did classical ballet for nearly 14 years. I am also greatly interested in music.. Ranging from classical to opera, slows to rock, and reggae to rap.
I play the steel pan, piano and the violin. I was a member of St. Joseph's Convent steel orchestra and participated in the National Music Festival with them, as well as in the National Youth Steelband competition, but one of my greatest experiences was to play with Invaders, one of the big steel bands of
Trinidad and Tobago.
I have a great love for animals as well and adore the outdoors. I enjoy sports, but just don't ask me the rules or the names of the players ;-). I was very involved in the Table Tennis Club at Howard University and travelled to Houston, Texas, to represent my school. It was actually quite exhilarating.

In September 1999 I started taking Tae Kwan Do classes at Howard University and I joined the Club. I love it ! I used to do Karate when I was small and earned my purple belt when I was 8 years old.

Drop me a line
